Userpilot

Userpilot is a cloud-based product experience and end-user engagement platform.

Who is Userpilot for?

It is typically used by freelancers and SMEs (small to mid-size enterprises) for user onboarding and to increase the customer adoption rate for digital platforms. It is also designed to help product and customer success teams improve the overall product experience by triggering the right in-app experience to the right persona at the right stage of their user journey.

How does it work?

Designed to help increase user engagement by onboarding then supporting end-users as they use a given platform, Userpilot can be used to manage the flow of the user interface; introduce new or advanced features and in-app marketing messages at the right time in the user journey; grow in-app or on-platform revenue, and provide self-service that matches the end user’s level of experience.

The product experience layer is created by the Userpilot script that lies on top of a digital platform or product.

There is no coding required in Userpilot, making it easy to create flows and user interfaces for those without dev experience. Flow builder tools allow for customization of images, buttons, colors, backgrounds, product themes, and company branding. Userpilot enables testing of the in-app experience prior to launch, then can track user engagement through built-in analytics. Users can also create net promoter score (NPS) surveys to measure loyalty of customers to their company or brand.

Key features

  • Customer experiences can be initiated by user behaviors, such as customer-defined events, page events, or mouse events.
  • Users can be categorized or segmented using user personas, in-app events, and custom filters to deliver personalized and relevant messaging.
  • The user interface is highly customizable. Companies can use their logos and color themes to maintain a consistent theme through Userpilot.
  • The product experience flows can be optimized using A/B testing tools.
  • Each Userpilot flow can be analyzed by defining and measuring the goals for the product experience.
  • Multi-language support, including right-to-left reading languages like Arabic and Hebrew.

What are the alternatives to Userpilot?

There are several alternatives to Userpilot. Elevio is a self-service platform designed to improve customer conversion and retention rates. Appcues offers the same pricing as Userpilot but can be more technical in its setup and customization, which means it is ideally suited for companies that have a development team to input some coding for initial setup. UserGuiding is another alternative to Userpilot with more customization options and lower pricing  compared to Userpilot.

Is Userpilot free?

A Userpilot account needs to be created to start using it, and new customers can opt to get a 14-day fully-featured trial account.

Two types of Userpilot paid accounts are available: Growth or Enterprise. The Growth account is charged at $249 a month, and the Enterprise account is charged at $749 a month.
